SANDRA L. JONES
AVOCA – On November 4, Sandra L. (Rice) Jones of Avoca, was called by Jesus to go to her Heavenly home. She passed peacefully surrounded by her family, after an extended illness. Sandy was loved by all she met. She has a buddly personality, infectious smile, flashing blue eyes, giant giving heart and joy for life.
She was an avid reader, enjoyed camping, travel, walking, square dancing, playing cards and dominos, craft fairs, and playing in the park with her grand & great grand kids. She enjoyed the many winters spent in Florida. Happiness is a kitchen full of family was her motto she lived by.
Sandy graduated from Mansfield, PA High School, Corning Community College, and Brockport University. She was employed by Corning Community College until becoming office manager of Driver Dons Driving School in Avoca.
Sandy was happily married for 57 years to her best friend, Donald L. Jones (Driver Don) of Avoca. In addition to Don, she is survived by her son Rick (Yvonne) Jones of Wellsburg; Debbi (Kevin) Ladd of Corning; and Mary Jo at home; Grandchildren Andrea, Dustin, and David (Tricia) of Elmira, Jessica (Brad) and Jennifer (Adam) of Virginia Beach, and Stephanie (Derek) of Corning; 11 great grandchildren: Jennifer, Imani, Lilly, Kaeden, Donovan, Mykell, Isabella, Zander, Annabelle, Maci, and Abigail; she also leaves behind siblings Brenda Finnerty , David Rice, and Cherly Hall, all of Pennsylvania; as well as many nieces and nephews, cousins, Aunts and Uncles; and furry baby Daisy Mae.
Sandy was pre-deceased by her parents Ed and Gwen Rice of Mansfield, PA; her in-laws Dave and Marjorie Jones of E. Smithfield, PA.
Sandy will be forever missed. Her light will shine on forever in all those she touched over the years. Her memory will go on for eternity.
There will be a Going Home Party later, at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers contributions in her honor may be made to The Springwater Nazarene Church, P.O. Box 116, Springwater, NY 14560, or at https://www.springnaz.org/give.

Very sweet and caring person, many fond memories. Lots of fun square dancing.
I’m so glad that I got to see you and Don again four years ago. I can still see you bringing the children to the wrestling so many years ago. Rest In Peace Sandy!
So very sorry to hear of Sandy’s passing. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all.
As a nephew of Sandy, I can vividly remember summers at her home, swimming in the pool and playing cards with the family. I will cherish those memories forever and forever. I’ll see you again Aunt Sandy

Sandy will be missed by all your friends in Florida. Your family was always out walking the park with your sweet dog in her stroller. She was always so happy with all the beautiful jewelry you bought her. We were all glad you got to come to Florida for a short time last year. Hope to see you and Mary this winter.
