Thomas G. O’Dell
AVOCA-Thomas G. O’Dell, 60, passed away Sunday (Jan. 24, 2021) at his home on State Route 415, after a long illness.
Born in North Hornell on May 3, 1960, he was a son of Gerald and Mildred (Schoonover) O’Dell.
He attended Avoca Central School and also attended a truck driving school in Florida. He traveled the country as a truck driver and also was employed as a mechanic.
An avid outdoorsman, he loved to hunt, fish and enjoyed riding his motorcycle and quad.
His surviving family includes his mother, Mildred O’Dell; his father, Gerald (Donna) O’Dell; one son, Corey O’Dell; one daughter, Amy Jones; two grandchildren, Kailen and Dallas Jones; three sisters, Debbie O’Dell, Denise (Ben) Stansfield and Kristie O’Dell; also many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was predeceased by one brother, Kelly O’Dell; maternal grandparents, Hiram and Florence Schoonover; paternal grandmother, Della O’Dell and one uncle, Warren Schoonover.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
