MILDRED (VAN SCOTER) GRIFFIN
GULFPORT, Miss./HORNELL-Mildred (VanScoter) Griffin, 81, of Gulfport, Miss., formerly of Hornell, passed away unexpectedly Sunday morning (Aug. 5, 2018.)
Born in Hornell on May 13, 1937, she was a daughter of the late Olmsted and Adell (Colley) VanScoter. On July 7, 1956, she was married in Hornell to Robert Grifffin, who predeceased her on Nov. 1, 2017 after 61 years of marriage. Besides her parents and husband, she was also predeceased by her brother, John VanScote and her sister, Luella Freeland.
A graduate of Hornell High School, class of 1955, Mildred has resided in Mississippi for many years.
Her loving family includes her two sons, Robert (Lisa) Griffin of Michigan and Kevin (Lori) Griffin of Mississippi; her three daughters, Valerie (Thomas) Reinholtz of Wisconsin, Cynthia (Jody) Strong of Mississippi and Shari Moore of Michigan; her 19 grandchildren; her two sisters, Helen Crosson and Fay Parada both of Arkport; her brother, Ronald (Maryann) VanScoter of Hornell; as well as her nieces, nephews and cousins.
The Bishop & Johnson Funeral Home, Inc., 285 Main St., Hornell is honored to assist the family of Mildred (VanScoter) Griffin.
There will be no calling hours or funeral service.
