Robert G. Valentine
HORNELL-Robert G. Valentine, 53, of Seneca Street, passed away early Friday morning (Dec. 29, 2017) at Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre, Pa., after a long illness.
Born in Hornell on Feb. 28, 1964, he was a son of William Valentine, who predeceased him on June 21, 2009 and Ruth (Sheedy) Valentine, who survives. Besides his father, he was also predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Mark and Martha Valentine and his maternal grandparents, Edward and Susan Sheedy.
A native and lifelong resident of Hornell, Robert attended Hornell High School.
He was an avid N.Y. Yankees and Buffalo Bills fan, and will be remembered most of all for his quiet nature.
His loving family includes his mother, Ruth, of Hornell; his nine brothers, Tom (Mary Theresa) Valentine, Mike Valentine, Larry (Chrissie) Valentine all of Hornell, Tim (Bonnie) Valentine of Canisteo, Bill (Mary Ann) Valentine, Jim (Judieann) Valentine, Mark (Sarah) Valentine; his twin brother, Richard Valentine, all of Hornell and Gary (Candi) Valentine of Elmira; his sister, Laurie (Michael) Adams of Hornell; also his many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews; as well as several aunt, uncles and cousins.
The Bishop & Johnson Funeral Home, Inc., 285 Main St. in Hornell is honored to serve the family of Robert G. Valentine.
There will be no calling hours. Relatives and friends are invited to meet his family at St. Ann’s Church in Hornell where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday (Jan. 6, 2018.) Interment will be in Heritage Hill Cemetery, Arkport.
In lieu of flowers, those wishing may contribute in his memory to the Wilmot Cancer Center, 111 Clara Barton St., Dansville, N.Y. 14437.
