Patricia A. Preston
HOWARD-Patricia A. Preston, 80, of County Route 70A, passed away early Wednesday morning (Oct. 11, 2017) at the Sweden Valley Manor in Coudersport, Pa.
Born in Canandaigua on March 14, 1937, she was a daughter of the late W. Gordon and Mary (Pierce) Heard. Besides her parents, she was also predeceased by her son, Timothy Preston and her son-in-law, Michael Taylor.
Before she retired, Pat was employed for more than 30 years as a Registered Nurse at Ira Davenport Memorial Hospital in Bath.
She enjoyed spending time doing crossword puzzles, reading, quilting and will be remembered for making the best relish.
Her loving family includes her husband of 56 years, Barry Preston, who she married in Wallace on Aug. 12, 1961; her three children, Michael (Deborah) Preston of Bath, Michele Taylor of Shinglehouse, Pa. and Kevin (Anna) Preston of Bath; her seven grandchildren, Melinda Preston(Christopher Cleary), Heather (Nik) Preston Chase, Kayla and Kyle Taylor, Aaron and Megan Preston and Zachary Preston; her great-grandchild, Ryan Cleary; her five siblings, Audrey Burdon of Bath, Richard Heard of Avoca, Jacqueline Hart of Minneapolis, Minn., Judith Hebbel of Houston, Tex. And William (Sharon) Heard of Bath; as well as several nieces and nephews.
The Avoca Funeral Home, 22 N. Main St. in Avoca is honored to serve the family of Patricia A. Preston.
There will be no calling hours. A private graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family at Valley View Cemetery in Avoca.
In lieu of flowers, those wishing may contribute in her memory to the Howard Public Library, 3607 County Route 70A, Avoca, N.Y. 14809.

  1. I worked with Pat for 12 years. She was a wonderful person and a great nurse. She was always talking about her children and grandchildren. She was a great inspiration to me. Very caring.
