THELMA R. SIRIANNI
HORNELL-Thelma R. Sirianni, 86, of Adsit St., passed away late Wednesday afternoon (March 22, 2017) at St. James Mercy Hospital in Hornell, where she was taken after becoming ill at home.
Born in Wayland on Oct. 28, 1930, she was a daughter of the late Lloyd Wolfanger, Sr. and Mildred (Mitchell) Wolfanger. Besides her parents, she was also predeceased by her daughter, Gloria Koskie; five sisters, Lucille, Gladys, Barbara, Vivian and Harriett as well as her brother, Lloyd Wolfanger, Jr.
A former resident of Wayland, Thelma was a graduate of Wayland High School and has resided in Hornell for the past 67 years.
Throughout the years she was employed by Westinghouse in Bath, the Merrill Hoisery and LRC Electronics in Hornell and retired from the Gunlocke Company in Wayland.
She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Arthur H. Cunningham American Legion Post No. 440 in Hornell and formerly attended the United Methodist Church in Wayland.
Thelma was an excellent seamstress and also enjoyed reading, gardening, cooking and watching television. She devoted her life to her family and especially loved the times she spent with all of them on Keuka Lake and when everyone gathered at her home for delicious meals that she would prepare for them.
Her loving family includes her husband of 67 years, Richard “Dick†Sirianni, Sr., who she married at St. Joseph’s Church in Wayland on Oct. 22, 1949; her three daughters, Carol Sirianni, Rosemarie McCollumn (Tim LaChiusa) and Mary Ann (John) VanScoter all of Hornell; her three sons, Rick (Cheryl) Sirianni and James (Samantha) Sirianni all of Hornell and Don Sirianni (Stephanie Bohler)of Belfast, N.Y.; her son-in-law, William “Bill†Koskie of Hornell; her 16 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren; her sister, Kathleen Menz of Wayland; her brother, Eugene (Madelyn) Wolfanger of Wayland; her brother-in-law, William Sirianni of Hornell; and many nieces and nephews.
The Bishop & Johnson Funeral Home, Inc., 285 Main St. in Hornell is honored to serve the family of Thelma R. Sirianni.
Calling hours are 1-4 p.m. Sunday at the Bishop & Johnson Funeral Home, Inc., 285 Main St., Hornell. Friends are invited to meet her family at St. Ann’s Church in Hornell where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:30 p.m. Monday. Committal prayers and interment will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Town of Fremont.
In lieu of flowers, those wishing may contribute in her memory to the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia Foundation, in honor of Ophelia Jersey, P.O. Box 781352, Philadelphia, Pa. 19178-1352. Envelopes for memorial contributions will be available at the funeral home.
