LINDSLEY A. KIDDER
HOWARD- Lindsley A. Kidder, went home to be with the Lord on April 25, 2016.
He was born June 19, 1927, the son of the late Ellis Kidder and Margaret Gleason Kidder. He was also predeceased by a great-grandchild Hayden Kidder.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Margaret Pease Kidder, sons, Barry Kidder (Brenda Ross), Mark Kidder, Michael (Brigid) Kidder; daughters Marsha (Robert) Patrick, Barbara (Robert) Cleeves all of Howard. He also leaves behind his two sisters, Theo Sick and Frances (Richard) Beechner. “Papa†Kidder found great joy in his 16 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, 1 great great-grandchild and many nieces and nephews.
He retired after more than 60 years as a plant manager at WW. Babcock Ladder Company in Bath, NY. His talents were many. He was deputized to assist his father-in-law (Harland Pease, Steuben County deputy sheriff) with police calls during the 1950’s; he held great knowledge of carpentry skills and used them not only to help out family members, but also friends and neighbors and he repaired many homes in Corning following the 1972 flood. He was a charter member of the Howard Volunteer Fire Department. He was also active in the Howard Union Church, the Howard Cemetery Association, Howard Masons and was a past member of the Town of Howard Planning Board He loved spending time with his family and ‘lake’ friends at the cottage he built for his family on Lake Demmon. He enjoyed hunting with his sons, grandsons and nephews at their hunting cabin.

At the request of the family there will be no calling hours. All are invited to attend his funeral service at the Howard Union Church on Friday April 29, 2016 at 2 p.m.

Lindsley was a great neighbor who loved his family and leaves a LEGACY for all of us to look up to. We know he is greatly missed.
