SALLY ANN (COOPER) HUGHES

BATH-Sally Ann (Cooper) Hughes, also known to many as “Mustang Sally”, 75, of Bath, passed away unexpectedly late Friday evening (Dec. 4, 2015).
Born in Bath on Sept. 12, 1940, she was a daughter of the late Harold and Gladys (Bates) Cooper. Besides her parents, she was also predeceased by her loving husband of 35 years, David D. Hughes, who passed away on Sept. 25, 1994; her daughter, Debbie Russell; her son and daughter-in-law, David “Crockett” (Donna) Hughes; her four brothers, Harold “Pete” Cooper, Francis “Bud” Cooper, Robert “Bob” Cooper and Donald “Don” Cooper; her two sisters, Doris “Midge” Rector and Mary Lou Robords.
Sally was a wonderful mother to her nine children, daughters, Penny (Donald) Leger, Vickie (Dave) Pedersen, April (Tony) Martinez, Kay (Shane) Nicholson, Linda (Russel) Fairbrother and Jody (Erwin) Wise; son, Luke Hughes and her son-in-law, Robert Russell. She was a very giving grandma of 23 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren and four adopted grandchildren. Also surviving are her brother, Richard “Dick” (Marilyn) Cooper; her four sisters, Betty “Tootsie” (Robert) Fisherer of Conesus, Bernice (James) Worden of Prattsburgh, Judy (Jerry) Zeh of Cohocton; Linda (Jeffery) Gardner of Wheeler; her three sisters-in-law, Mary Cooper, Norma Cooper and Molly Stryker; her brother-in-law, Orrin Roberts; also many nieces and nephews.
She will be greatly missed.
The Avoca Funeral Home in honored to serve the family of Sally Ann Hughes.
Calling hours are Noon-2 p.m. Friday at the Avoca Funeral Home, 22 N. Main St., Avoca, where a funeral service will be held following calling hours at 2 p.m. Friday. Committal services and interment will follow at Vale of Rest Cemetery, Avoca.
