HELEN IRENE SAGER

BATH-Helen Irene Sager of Bath, passed away late Friday evening (Oct. 10, 2014), after a brief illness.
Born in Hornell on Nov. 2, 1927, she was a daughter of the late Frank and Agnes Stephens Bennett. Besides her parents, she was also predeceased by her two sisters, Dorothy Borden and Barbara Guarglia.
On Feb. 3, 1950 she married Stanley Sager and they have been happily married for nearly 65 years.
Helen devoted her life to her beloved family and friends.
Besides her husband, Stanley, her loving family includes her three children, Deborah (Ed) Lyons, Linda Sager and Steve (Kandy) Sager; her granddaughter, who was always in her thoughts, Amanda (James) Denton, a Major in the U.S. Air Force; also her brother, Terry Bennett.
The Avoca Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of Helen Irene Sager.
There will be an hour of calling from 1-2 p.m. Tuesday at the Avoca Funeral Home, 22 N. Main St., Avoca, where a funeral service will be held following the hour of calling at 2 p.m. , with Rev. Terry Sutfin officiating.
Committal services and interment will follow at Valley View Cemetery, Avoca.

  1. Sincere condolences to the Sager Family. We have been friends with Helen/Stan for 45 years and share many fond memories. We shall miss Helen very much. Rest In Peace

    OUR THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS ARE WITH YOU AT THIS DIFFICULT TIME.I REMEMBER AUNT HELEN ALWAYS SMILING AND BEING SO VERY FRIENDLY. I WAS FORTUNATE ENOUGH TO STAY WITH HELEN AND STANLEY IN HORNELL RIGHT AFTER THEY WERE MARRIED. UNC LET ME RIDE WITH HIM IN THE LAUNDRY TRUCK. SO THANKFUL THAT YOUR WHOLE FAMILY IS TOGETHER TO HONOR WIFE AND MOM. PEACE AND GOD BLESS.
