A resident of South Hornell and Canisteo for most of his life, Ted recently moved to East Amherst and before his retirement he was employed as an electrician for the former Morrison-Knudsen Co. in Hornell.

He was a communicant of the former St. Ignatius Loyola Church in Hornell and most recently at St. Ann’s Church of Our Lady of the Valley Parish.
Ted enjoyed woodworking and for many years he served as a volunteer for the South Hornell Fire Company and in the 1980’s he was a member of a bowling league at the Hornell Bowl.
His loving family includes his wife of nearly 49 years, the former Marcia O’Grady, who he married in Fulton on Nov. 27, 1965; his four children, Michele (Rick) Miles of Canisteo, Stephanie (Doug) Wright of Canaseraga, Holly (Scott) Marfurt of Williamsville and Christopher (Liz) Brown of Rochester; his six grandchildren, Andrew Lehmann, Chloe Miles, Joshua Wright, Hannah Wright, Madison Marfurt and Tyler Marfurt; his two sisters, Carol (Bud) Whitney of Belmont and Rosemary Gandy of California; also his nieces and nephews.

Our thoughts and Prayers go out to Marcia and her family. What a sweet and lovable man “Brownie” was. Always a laugh and a smile that light up when he saw you. I am sure there is laughter in Heaven right know. He was a wonderful person to know and he will be missed. His love for his family was always a great example to us. Peace always, Tim and Sharon Haley
Ted was a great neighbor on Square Woods Drive who was always willing to lend a hand. We were blessed to know him for a brief few years and were grateful to have him watch over our home when we were not there. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Marcia and the rest of the family.
Dear Marcia and Family,
We were so very sorry to hear about Ted’s passing. He was such a kind and generous man who loved his family and friends greatly. He will be sadly missed by everyone who knew him. Please know that you are in our thoughts and prayers.
Dear Marcia and Family, I am very sorry for your loss. Ted was such a great guy, friendly, helpful and always with a smile on his face. He seemed happy and proud to have a project going on, be it building something from scratch or repairing something the rest of us would consider junk and making it run. Marcia, not a day goes by I do not think about you and will continue to do so, in part because of the solar flower you gave me which continues to dance. Love you, Cheri
