TERESA M. (PALMESANO) ANDREANO

FARMINGTON/HORNELL-Teresa M. (Palmesano) Andreano, 50, formerly of Hornell, passed away Wednesday evening (Aug. 21, 2013) at her home in Farmington after a brave battle with health issues.
Born in Hornell on Oct. 4, 1962, she was a daughter of Philip Palmesano, who predeceased her in 1985 and Joanne Harkenrider Palmesano, who survives. On Aug. 21, 2004 she was married at St. Mary’s Church in Canandaigua to Thomas Andreano, who also survives.
A graduate of St. Ann’s School and Hornell High School, class of 1980, Teresa received her bachelor’s degree from SUNY Brockport in 1984.
Teresa was a former resident of Tupper Lake where she was employed as a recreational therapist working with the developmentally disabled until 1999 at which time she transferred to the Fingerlakes DDSO at Metro Park in Henrietta where she was employed until 2010. Teresa resided in Canandaigua before moving to Farmington in 2001.
She will be remembered most of all for her unwavering faith, compassion for others, her sense of humor, fighting spirit and love of life.
Her loving family includes her husband of nine years, Tom and her daughter, Taylor Kennedy both of Farmington; her four stepchildren, Katie Andreano, of Henrietta, Thomas (Allison) Andreano and their two daughters, Evelyn and Gianna of Henrietta, Jeremy (Serena) Andreano of Oak Harbor, Wash. and Elizabeth Andreano of Grapevine, Tx. her mother, Joanne Palmesano of Hornell; her mother-in-law, Judy Andreano of Henrietta; her siblings, Philip (Laura) Palmesano of Corning, Christin (Charlton) Harley of Rochester and Dina (Mike) O’Herron of Elmira; also her nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins, as well as her beloved dogs, Hunter and Sara.
Besides her father, she was predeceased by her maternal grandparents, Robert and Jesse Harkenrider and her paternal grandparents, Frank and Mary Palmesano.
Calling hours are from 6-8 p.m. Monday and from 1-3 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Bishop & Johnson Funeral Home, Inc., 285 Main St., Hornell. Friends are invited to meet her family at St. Ann’s Church in Hornell where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday. Committal prayers and interment will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Town of Fremont.
In lieu of flowers, those wishing may contribute in her memory to either the National Kidney Foundation of Upstate and Western New York, 310 Packetts Landing, Fairport, N.Y. 14450-1567 (please make checks payable to National Kidney Foundation) or to the Western New York Chapter of Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, 331 Alberta Drive, Suite 14226, Amherst, N.Y. 14226 (please make checks payable to JDRF.) Envelopes for memorial contributions will be available at the funeral home.
