CONNOR A. GILBERT
CANASERAGA-Connor A. Gilbert, 16, of 9891 Gas Springs Road, passed away unexpectedly early Sunday morning (Aug. 18, 2013.)
Born in Dansville on May 27, 1997, he was a son of John and Kim Kiley Gilbert.
Connor was to enter his Junior year at Canaseraga Central School and attend the Wildwood Campus of the Steuben-Allegany BOCES in Hornell for welding. He was a member of the Canaseraga Central School Varsity Baseball team and also played in Canaseraga Youth League.
An avid outdoorsman, Connor liked to hunt, fish and trap. He always enjoyed being on the family farm, Lost Valley Farms, where he would often go four wheeling and check his trail cameras.
Connor, who will be remembered most of all for his “mischievous smile,” always loved spending time with his family and his many friends.
His loving family includes his parents, John and Kim Gilbert; his two sisters, Brittany Gilbert (Colt Ellerstein) and Brianne Gilbert; and his brother, Landon Gilbert all of Canaseraga; his paternal grandparents, Gary and Donna Gilbert and his maternal grandparents, Roger and Sandy Kiley all of Canaseraga; also his aunts, uncles, cousins; and his great-great uncle, Raymond Higgins of Hornell.
Calling hours are from 1-3 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the Bishop & Johnson Funeral Home, Inc., 285 Main St., Hornell. A funeral service will be held in his memory at 11 a.m. Friday at the Larger Parish Church in Canaseraga, with Pastor Jess Flint officiating.
The courtesy of no flowers would be appreciated and those wishing may contribute in his memory to the Canaseraga Conservation Club, Inc., P.O. Box 332, Canaseraga, the Canaseraga Ambulance & Fire Dept. P.O. 322, Canaseraga, or to the Class of 2015 at Canaseraga Central School, 4 Main St., Canaseraga, N.Y. 14822. Envelopes for memorial contributions will be available at the funeral home.

Kim & John and family,
I am so sorry to hear about Conner. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.
You have my deepest sympathy. I remember Connor fondly as I coached him in youth soccer in Hornell one summer. You are all in my prayers.
May God help to heal the pain in your heart as you mourn the tragic loss of your loved one. Although I was not fortunate enough to have known Connor, I can say he was blessed with a wonderful family, a tight knit community and a pillar for a grandfather. Bless you all.
It is with a heavy heart that we offer our deepest and most sincere condolences during this time of un-imaginable loss. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.
Kim and John, we were out of state when we heard the news about Connor – so sad and sorry for what you are going through. Sending prayers to ease your hearts
