HORNELL-Margaret A. “Pug” (Brown) Nasca, 74, entered into rest unexpectedly Saturday morning (May 11, 2013) at her home at 23 Ravine St.
Born in Hornell on Feb. 21, 1939, she was a daughter of the late LaVerne and Bernice Bicknell Brown. On April 30, 1960 she was married in Hornell to William L. Nasca, who survives.
A graduate of Hornell High School, class of 1957, she retired after many years working as a teacher’s aide at the former Lincoln and Columbian Schools in Hornell.
She was a member of Our Lady of the Valley Parish and was a communicant of St. Ann’s Church in Hornell; she enjoyed participating in various parish activities, including singing in the choir at St. Ann’s Church and the former St. Ignatius Loyola Church.
She also enjoyed swimming and exercising at the Hornell YMCA, visiting with many family and friends and attending all of her beloved grandchildren’s many sporting, academic activities and events. She loved planning and attending her high school reunions and looked forward to the annual alumni banquets.
Her family includes her husband of 53 years, William; her five beloved children, Patti (Nasca) Pascarella of Rochester, William (Dianne) Nasca of Lancaster, Lynda (Francis) Losecco of Canisteo, Judith (Christian) Remchuck and Shellene Nasca (Patrick Elmore) all of Hornell; her eight treasured grandchildren, Elizabeth Pascarella, Ryan, Thomas and Nicholas Nasca, Christina and Michael Losecco, Jared Remchuck and Alexandria Argentieri; her two sisters, Carolyn Tibbott of Hornell and Barbara (Frank) Brown of Dingmans Ferry, Pa.; her three brothers, Roland “Buzz” (Sandra) Brown of Avoca, Thomas (Barbara) Brown and James (Sandra) Brown all of Hornell; her two sisters-in-law, Sally Brown and Eleanor Brown both of Hornell; also her nieces, nephews and cousins; as well as her many, many close and dear friends, especially her oldest and dearest, Nancy “Wood” Kennedy, Joanne Hebenstreit, Donna DeSanto and Bill and Linda McMordie and her Texas Caf� “coffee-talk” clan.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her son-in-law, Lee Pascarella; her two sisters, Lucy Olds and Marilyn “Min” Alsheimer; her five brothers, Donald, Robert, LaVerne “Short”, Jack and William Brown.
Calling hours are from 1-4 and 6-9 p.m. Tuesday at the Bishop & Johnson Funeral Home, Inc., 285 Main St., Hornell. Friends are invited to meet her family at St. Ann’s Church in Hornell where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday. Committal prayers and interment will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Town of Fremont.
In lieu of flowers, those wishing may contribute in her memory to either the Hornell High School Alumni Assoc. P. O. Box 135, Hornell or to the Hornell YMCA Pool Fund, 12 Center St., Hornell, N.Y. 14843. Envelopes for memorial contributions will be available at the funeral home.

I am so sorry to hear about Pug…what a wonderful person, your Mom was. I have the fondest memories of her and loved chatting with her, whenever I would see her. God bless and comfort you all now and always.

Pug was a wonderful person who will be missed. She was a great friend of my mom’s. Know that the Cheresnowskys are all thinking of you at this time of loss.

Billy and Family we were so sorry to hear about the passsing of your mother. My children fondly remember her at the Columbian School. She treated them wonderful. Especially my daughter Lauren who she took under her wing as she cried on a daily bases. She always asked about them all whenever I would run into her. You were all truly blessed to have her. I know she is looking down on all of you with all her love. Please know we are thinking of you all at this very sad time.
I was very suprised to hear of your mom death. I cannot believe I just saw her 2 weeks ago. I will never forget the fun, kindness and laughter on the trip to Italy. She was a great lady and will sure be missed. My thoughts, prayers and support are with the family.
