EVELYN L. (HARRIS) GOODINE

AVOCA-Evelyn L. (Harris) Goodine of 56 Grant St., left us all to soon on Saturday (Dec. 29, 2012) to be with her loving husband, Arnold B. Goodine.
Born in Bath on March 10, 1939, she was the daughter of the late Guy and Bernice (Jackson) Harris. Besides her parents and her husband, she was also predeceased by her two sons, Robert Goodine and Michael Goodine and her granddaughter, Jennifer Murray Jackson.
A member of the Avoca United Methodist Church, Evelyn had a passion to work with the elderly and she retired as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) at the Taylor Health Center in Bath. During her earlier years she served as a foster mother to many children.
Her family includes her two daughters; Kim Jackson of Avoca and Julia (John) Cooley of Maryland; her five grandchildren, Jeremiaha Jackson (Carla Lessig) of Virginia, Crystal (Anthony) Drummond of Oklahoma, Shawn Cooley and Joshua Cooley both of Maryland and Michael Goodine of North Carolina; her two sisters-in-law, Phyllis (Butch) Harris and Beverly (Arthur) Harris all of Bath; also several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held in her memory at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, those wishing may contribute in her memory to the Arthritis Foundation, Upstate N.Y. Chapter, 3300 Monroe Ave., Suite 319, Rochester, NY 14618 or to CURE Childhood Cancer, 1117 Perimeter Center West, Suite N-402, Atlanta, GA 30338.
Arrangements are with the Avoca Funeral Home, 22 N. Main St., Avoca.
