  1. Mr. Ball was a good man and he will be remembered and missed by many young and old in the Hornell area. RIP Mr. Ball.

  2. I have known Walt Ball for twenty plus years. I first met him at one of my high school softball games where he coined me with the name “Star”. He never missed a home game and was a constant at many Hornell sporting events. I graduated from HHS and currently teach there now. I would often see him around town and we would always make time to visit and catch up on each others lives. He still after all these years would call me star. He was a good man and always brought a smile to anyones face. Your prescence around town will be truly missed. RIP Walt Ball

  3. I am saddened to hear about the passing of Walter Ball. For many of us he was a constant – whether it be at a sporting event, in a classroom, or around twon. Once Walter knew your name and a bit about you, you were sure to be spoken to, picked on and laughed with. He truly was a lover of people and a friend to all. Rest easy, Walter, and tell your pal, Monk, we miss him, too.

  4. I was saddened to learn of Walt’s death. He was always so nice and smiling whenever I saw him. I have many fond memories of living on Thacher Street, in an apartment my husband and I rented from Richard “Monk” and Donna Kull when we were first married. We spent much time visiting and laughing with Walt. I am sure that Richard was there to greet you with the angels when you arrived home in Heaven Walt. God bless…give Richard a big hug from me!

  5. Walter ,Our friend,our neighbor:
The boys and I will miss all those questions you had, almost daily about our work and why we weren’t doing it another way; your way! But l as usual I would reply “loose lips sink ships”. So just keep watching us and tell Uncle Bill and Monkey why and how we are doing things here now. May the angels take good care of you,God Bless, LoveYour friends : “Little Monk”, Chip (your horse track buddy), Jake (your garden tiller) Jeanette and Barbara (whom you paid so many complements to)
