DORIS G. WRAIGHT
AVOCA-Doris G. Wraight, 89, passed away early Tuesday morning (Nov. 15, 2011) at her home on the Waterbury Hill Road.
Born in Prattsburgh on May 23, 1921, she was a daughter of the late Oscar and Isabelle Rice Graham. On July 10, 1940 she was married in Prattsburgh to Duane Wraight, who predeceased her on Jan. 25, 2007 after 66 years of marriage. Besides her parents and husband, she was also predeceased by her great-grandson and her two brothers, Raymond and Elwin Graham.
A former resident of Prattsburgh, Doris has resided in Avoca for the past 61 years and was employed as a bus driver for Avoca Central School before her retirement.
She was a member of the former Wallace Methodist Church and the Eastern Star.
Doris loved animals, especially horses. She always remembered and was very fond of the children on her bus route.
Her family includes her four children, Clark Wraight of Texas, Carole Wraight of Bristol, Stephen (Sandra) Wraight of Ithaca and James Wraight of Avoca; her seven grandchildren, Hugh, Jennifer, Kristi, Carole, Sarah, Seth and Michael; her three great-grandchildren, Makayla, Jacob and Mason; her sister, Ann Mattoon; also her nieces and nephews.
There will be no calling hours. A funeral service will be held in her memory at a later date.
Arrangements are with the Avoca Funeral Home, 22 N. Main St., Avoca.

Our sympathies to the family of Doris. I knew her through working for the Avoca school and as a member of the OES of which Duane was our patron. Clark was in the class of 1962 with me.
Our sympathies to the family of Mrs. Wraight. My fondest memories of her were hauling Jimmy and I around before we had driver’s licenses. Very respectfully, Ron Buck family
We have found memories of Doris and will never forget the taste of her home made goulash. Our heart felt condolences to the family.
