I was an only child & never knew what it was like to have a sister until I moved next door to Rita in 1986.
First we were friends, then best friends & then more like sisters.
We had such fun times on the Mack School Road – Christmas parties, St Paddy’s Day dinners, July picnics, Thanksgiving – four couples that shared them all. Rita & Harry were always the planners & the ones that made things happen, me & my husband John, Betty & Larry Shinebarger & John & Kitty Faulkner we were just along for the ride.
We shared the fun times & we shared the sorrows of which there were many.
I can’t imagine life without Rita. Even at the nursing home we shared so many laughs, most of which we could only share with each other.
I loved Rita and I thank God for bringing us all together on the Mack School Road in Arkport.
God speed my friend, you deserve the rest.
We love Rita. You put up a long courage battle with your illness and never complained. You were always worrying and praying for the other person.
You brought up Steve and Jerry to be the best they could be and how proud you always were of them.
Karly, Kolby, Brianne and Owen loved your dearly. You lived to see them become young adults and branch off into live-long careers.
Jeff and Ashley were special to you. How much you and Harry would talk about them and their where abouts.
I will miss you dearly, but promise to keep in touch with the siblings.
You now enjoy eternal peace with Harry, your Mother, Dad and bother. When you are all together, remember us here to all the Sullivans, Traits and Kalpetsky’s and Quinn’s.
Love, Margie
