O. FREDERICK EVANS

AVOCA-O. Frederick Evans, 91 of Avoca, died Thursday afternoon (Jan. 22, 2008) at Ira Davenport Memorial Hospital in Bath.
Born in New York City on June 12, 1917, he was the son of the late William and Hilda Limbergh Evans. His father was the founding father and first president of the original Central Bible Institute of the Assembly of God Church in Springfield, Missouri.
He was employed as a material handler at the Kurtis Publishing House in Philadelphia as well as being a pastor at a church in Mt. Ephraim, N.Y.
His family includes his daughter, Elaine (Donald) Johansen of Stratford, N.Y.; his grandson, Kevin (Anita) Johansen of Shreveport, La., his granddaughter, Wendy (Aaron) Belfast of Ilion, N.Y., his two great-grandchildren, Lauren and Elizabeth; his three sisters, Eleanor Bell of California, Carolyn Evans and Marge Leader both of Missouri.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his two brothers, Bill and Paul Evans.
There will be no calling hours. A graveside service will be held in Missouri at the convenience of his family.
Arrangements are with the Avoca Funeral Home, 22 N. Main St., Avoca.
