BARBARA R. LUCKENBACH

AVOCA-Barbara R. Luckenbach, 72 of the Wallace Back Road, entered into rest Wednesday evening (Nov. 19, 2008) at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, where she was taken after becoming ill at her home.
Born in Avoca on Oct. 15, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Nellie Fleischman Reinhart. On June 30, 1956, she was married at the Wallace Methodist Church to Hayden Luckenbach, Jr., who predeceased her on June 10, 2008 after 52 years of marriage. Besides her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her two brothers, Thomas Reinhart and Joseph Reinhart.
A life long resident of Avoca, Barbara was a graduate of Avoca Central School and was employed at Phillips Lighting in Bath before her retirement.
She loved her grandkids and great-grandkids and was great cook and enjoyed knitting, painting and doing ceramics.
Her family includes her three children, Jeffrey (Suzanne) Luckenbach of Avoca, Kimberly (Michael) Taylor of Cohocton and James (Wendy) Luckenbach of Dansville; her seven grandchildren, Robert, Aaron, Austin, Tyler, Emily, Michelle and Kyle; her two great-grandchildren, Ann Marie and Alexis; her two brothers, Herman Reinhart and Richard Reinhart; her sister, Emma Whiting; also her nieces and nephews.
Calling hours are from 1- 4 p.m. Sunday at the Avoca Funeral Home, 22 N. Main St., Avoca where a funeral and committal service will be held following calling hours at 4 p.m. Sunday. Interment will be in Valley View Cemetery, Avoca.

  1. we as a family share the same losses again as the holiday draws near..thats when our losses seam to be the worst.But we stick together remeber the good times we all have had as a family.some of us may be far away but your thoughts and prayers are with you all.Kim,Jeff and Jim i will always rember the family as for what you all are we will love and miss her dearly..

  2. Paul and I would like to offer our condolences to the family of Barbara and Junior. How very sad to lose both of them so close together, I’m sure that they are happily reunited in heaven.
