JUDITH A. “JUDY” NARY

HORNELL-Judith a “Judy” Nary, 66, of 24 East Main St., passed away Wednesday afternoon (Nov. 19, 2008) at St. James Mercy Hospital in Hornell surrounded by her family
Born in Canisteo on March 2, l942, she was a daughter of the late Merle and Bernice Brownell Hallett. On Jan. 20, 1962, she was married to Robert F. Nary, who survives.
A life long resident of Hornell, Judith was a graduate of Hornell High School and was employed as a teachers’ aide at the Steuben-Allegany County BOCES in Hornell for 17 years before her retirement in 2001.
She enjoyed shopping, cooking and entertaining for her very large family. She was loved by her family and friends because of her loving and caring nature. Her grandchildren were the light of her life.
Besides her husband of 46 years, Robert, her family includes her two daughters, Denise (Jim) McEvily of Henrietta and Jodi Testani of Hornell; her four grandchildren, Carissa, Shawn, Colby and Sophia; her sister-in-law, Elizabeth (Bill) Schwartz of Greenwood; her two brothers-in-law, George (Bertie) Nary of Wyoming, NY and William Nary of Great Valley; also her many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents, her two granddaughters, Shelby McEvily and Elianna Testani; her sisters, Phyllis, Barbara and Joyce and her brother, Russell.
Calling hours are from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the Bishop & Johnson Funeral Home, Inc., 285 Main St., Hornell. A funeral and committal service will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday at the Davidson Memorial Chapel of the United Presbyterian Church in Hornell, with the Rev. David Kilgore officiating. Everyone is invited to a gathering at the Maple City Bowl in Hornell following the funeral service. Interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Town of Fremont.
In lieu of flowers, those wishing may contribute in her memory to either CURE (childhood cancer) 200 Westfall Road, Rochester, NY 14620-4636 or to the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Western New York, 3901 Genesee St., Suite 110, Buffalo, NY 14225. Envelopes for memorial contributions will be available at the funeral home.

    We had only been blessed to meet you a few times , yet we know your Girls , and Denise and her family are our very good friends . You obviously were a good and Loving Mother to have raised such girls .
    You will be missed by many and those you leave behind are blessed to have known you and to have shared your love .

Judy was a special person who was kind and caring and could always make you laugh with her sense of humor.I spent alot of time at the Nary home growing up and I have endless fond memories of Judy and her family.I have always kept those memories in my heart. Judy will always be remembered for not only who she was but what she gave to others…

I too spent alot of time at the Nary home and have alot of fond memories.One of them Bobs big birthday bash at Snoopy’s.What a blast you all were for a lot of years!!!I was abble to spend a great deal of time with Judy during her stays at St.James,and as always,she was always happy and happy to see me.If there is anything any of you ever need I am here for you just as you all were for me.
