She has resided in Hornell and North Hornell for most of her life and was employed by the former Weinberg & Gleason Women’s Apparel store in Hornell. Before her retirement 25 years ago she was employed as an administrative assistant at Alfred State College.

She loved to make homemade sauce and meatballs for her family and enjoyed her beautiful flower garden as well as doing crossword puzzles, reading, bowling and traveling, especially trips to her favorite Casinos.

  1. My sincere condolences go out to Karen and the entire family. I remember Helen as a sweet lady who I met at the Italian-American Womens’ Club and before that, she worked with me as a temp in the Engineering Dept. at Alfred University. We also worked together at the “door” of the Carducci Lodge at the monthly Friday night drawings. She will be missed, but not forgotten. God Bless.
    Sincerely, Rosalie DiRaimondo, North Hornell

  2. My prayers go out to her family on the loss of this lovely lady. My memories of her will always be set at St. Ann’s Church at Mass, sitting by herself, but more often with her family. I know she will be rewarded for her devotion to the Eucharist.

  3. As an long-time Alfred State employee, I fondly remember Helen’s smile, and knowledge of ‘Alfred Ag & Tech.’ My sympathy goes out to all of her family.

  4. Karen & Pen:
Our thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family at this difficult time.
    Paul & Sheila Meese

  5. My sincere condolences to Aunt Helen’s family and to all my other Aunt’s (Ruthie, Betty, Annie)and Uncle Frannie. I remember Aunt Helen always smiling and laughing especially when she was with her sisters. Now after 15 years my mom (Mary) finally has a sister in heaven. God Bless!

  6. Rest in peace Gram Didnt see you much over the years but you were always thought about. You will be missed.

  7. when we first moved back to Hornell in 1987, Mrs. Martin was our first neighbor. She was a great lady and even after we moved and I would see her…(especially at K of C Bingo) we always had nice visits. God Bless you all in your loss
