Born in Johnstown, Pa. on May 19, 1930, he was a son of the late Russell and Helen Evans Tibbott. On Dec. 9, 1953, he was married at Camp Lejeune, N.C. to the former Carolyn Brown, who survives.
A graduate of Cambria Central High School in Ebensburg, Pa., class of 1948, Bob received a football scholarship to Alfred University where he played football for four years before he graduated in 1952, receiving a bachelor’s of science degree.
He attended Officer Training School during college and for every summer for about three years he was at Paris Island. A veteran of the Korean Conflict, he served with the U.S. Marine Corps from 1948 until 1954 and with the Marine Corps Reserves from 1954 to 1960, attaining the rank of Captain.

Bob took great pride in working in his yard and planting flowers. He was also very proud of the beautiful stone work that he completed around his home. Even though he enjoyed doing crossword puzzles and being a daily patron at Friendly’s and a frequent visitor to OTB, he also loved to share his many stories with family and friends. Besides football, his family was his life.

Carol,
I am sorry for the tremendous loss of your Dad. I pray for God’s loving embrace of you and your family.
an old friend,
Rick Mulhollen
My mother Mary Patton Blake and I would like to extend our deepest sympathy to the family. I had the pleasure of working with Bob when he worked for my Dad, John Patton and I really loved the experience. He always had a smile that would make any day a brighter one just being around him! He taught me a lot about taping and painting and I sure miss those times but I carried the knowledge with me and used it many times through the years.
I know the Lord will carry you through this tough time. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.
Dear Carolyn and Family,
I was sorry to hear of your loss. Dick and I will remember you in our prayers. Always remember, God WILL take care of you!
Bob was a great guy and football star at Alfred University.
I am sorry for your loss. May God bless and comfort you at this time and know you are in our prayers.
