WAYNE – Diane Marie Campbell, 79, of Wayne, NY, passed away peacefully on June 28, 2026.

Born on March 25, 1947, in Hornell, NY, Diane was the daughter of the late Anthony Rechichi and the late Maxine Rechichi. A devoted wife and mother, she dedicated her life to her family with a warmth and generosity that touched everyone who knew her. Diane never turned away a stranger and always made room at the dinner table, giving freely to others without question. Her kindness, her forgiving spirit, and her deeply maternal nature defined the way she moved through the world.

Diane volunteered with the Legion Auxiliary for several years, giving her time and energy in service to her community. In her quieter moments, she enjoyed gardening, bird watching, and spirited games of euchre. She was also an avid NASCAR fan, a passion she carried with great enthusiasm throughout her life.

She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Donald G. Campbell, Sr.; her sons, Donald G. Campbell Jr., Daniel Campbell, Dennis Campbell, and David Campbell; her brothers, Anthony J. Rechichi and Joseph R. Rechichi; and her parents.

Diane is survived by her daughters, Diane Sutton, Dedra Campbell, Debbie Stevens, and Donna Hojnoski; her son, Doug Campbell; her sister, Doris Councilmen; her brother, Gary Rechichi; and her bonus daughter, Wakita Wise; as well as numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and extended family members who will miss her dearly.

Funeral services will be held at the Bishop and DeSanto Funeral Home in Hammondsport on Sunday, July 12. Calling hours are from 2-3 p.m., with the funeral service beginning at 3:00 p.m. A reception for friends and family will follow at the Wayne Volunteer Fire Department.

May she find eternal peace and rest in God’s loving embrace.

In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the Wayne Volunteer Fire Department.
