Ruth A. Cahill
BATH – Ruth A. Cahill, 101, passed away Friday (Dec. 19, 2025) at the Taylor Health Center in Bath.
Born in Bath on Oct. 23, 1924 she was a daughter of the late Charles and Alice (Agor) Angel. She was married for 50 years to Bernard Cahill before he predeceased her on Jan. 10, 2007. Besides her parents and husband, she was also predeceased by four siblings, Richard Angel, Ivan Angel, Virginia Angel, Larry Angel and her son-in-law, Ray Spencer.
A graduated of Haverling High School in Bath, Ruth was employed at one time in the bottling department of the Taylor Winery in Hammondsport, NY.
She was a member of the Mitchellville Methodist Church and throughout her life she enjoyed spending time bowling, golfing and playing cards. Ruth was very creative and artistic and was very talented at doing crewel needlepoint, playing the piano, crocheting. and was a beautiful singer, an excellent seamstress, and a prolific painter. She will be remembered most of all for her love of children.
She is lovingly survived by her two children, William (Jean) Cahill of Florida and Jackie Spencer of Trumansburg, NY; two grandchildren, Angie Gemignani Spencer and Robert (Ana) Spencer; four great-grandchildren, James Spencer, John Spencer, Bianca Gemignani and Veronica Gemignani; two sisters, Lee Rae Powell and Sandra Harvey; as well as several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
