Dominic P. “Donny Pat” Conlan

HORNELL – Dominic P. “Donny Pat” Conlan, 75, formerly of Hornell, passed away early Wednesday afternoon (Oct. 15, 2025) at the Cayuga Nursing Rehabilitation Center in Ithaca, NY, where he has resided for the past seven years.

Born in Hornell in March 1950, he was a son of Robert Conlan, who predeceased him in 1955, and Josephine Nasca Conlan Nosky, who predeceased him in 2018. Besides his parents, he was also predeceased by his stepfather, James Noskey, and his brother, Robert Conlan.

A resident of Hornell for most of his life, Dominic was a graduate of St. Ann’s School, Hornell High School, class of 1969, and received an associate’s degree from SUNY Farmingdale and a bachelor’s degree from St. Bonaventure University in Allegany, NY.

He resided in Rochester, NY, for about 15 years before returning to Hornell in 1992, where he was employed by the City of Hornell Parks Dept.

While residing in Hornell, Dominic was a member of Our Lady of the Valley Parish and was a communicant of St. Ann’s Church.  Throughout the years, he enjoyed reading, gardening, and traveling through Europe.

He is survived by his sister-in-law, Diana Conlan of Howard, N,Y and several cousins, including the members of the Fagnan family.

To honor his wishes, there will be no calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in his memory at 10 a.m. Thursday (October 23, 2025) at St. Ann’s Church, 35 Erie Ave., Hornell. Private interment will be at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Town of Fremont.

In lieu of flowers, those wishing may contribute in his memory to the Hornell Public Library, 64 Genesee St., Hornell, NY 14843. Envelopes for memorial contributions will be available at the church.

The Bishop-Johnson & DeSanto Funeral Home, 285 Main St., Hornell, is honored to assist Dominic’s family with the arrangements.

  1. Rest in peace rest friend. You were a talented, kind, compassionate soul. We were friends for many years from High School to St. Bonaventure. You made Hornell shine for many years with your green thumb. You were always in my prayers.

Donny we meet when I was taking care of Tom,s dad, John Flansburg, you lived across the street and helped take care of John when I was at work, your mom was a personal friend of my mother’s family, we stated a friendship, after John’s death, I would visit you for coffee and great conversations! Tom and I enjoyed the postcards from your travels abroad, always wanted to visit you at the home, but could not find out exactly where you were ,I hope you are at peace my friend, love Mary Ann DiDio and Tom Flansburg!
