Rose Marie Snyder
November 16, 1944 – January 27, 2025
BATH – Rose Marie Snyder, 80, of Bath, passed away peacefully on Monday evening, January 27, 2025, at Steuben Centers, surrounded by her loved ones.
Born on November 16, 1944, in Urbana, Rose was the daughter of the late Helen and Orlo Hughes. She spent her life devoted to her family and community, touching the hearts of all who knew her with her kindness, warmth, and love.
A devoted wife and mother, Rose was a stay-at-home mom who lovingly raised eight children. She had a passion for creativity and enjoyed drawing, painting, and spending time in the sunshine. She found joy in the simple pleasures of life—listening to music, admiring flowers, and observing wildlife. Her gentle spirit and caring nature made her a beloved figure in the lives of her family and friends.
Rose is survived by her five daughters, Tammy (Rob) Hale, Julie Walters (Dave Sabins), Bonnie Snyder, Mary Bates, and Wendy (Chris) Comstock; her two sons, Mike Snyder and Richard Snyder; 23 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband of 52 years, Clayton; her daughter Susan Garrison; and her three sisters, Ramona, Mary, and Kathy, as well as her three brothers, Ronnie, David, and Art.
The family will receive friends for calling hours from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 5, 2025, at the Bishop & DeSanto Funeral Home, 22 N. Main St., AVOCA. A funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. in the funeral home. She will be laid to rest at Vale of Rest Cemetery, Avoca.
The Bishop & DeSanto Funeral Home is honored to assist Rose’s family with the arrangements.
