Sandra Belle Layaou (Salisbury)
October 10, 1942 – November 1, 2024
HAMMONSPORT – Sandra humbly took the hand of her Lord on Friday (Nov. 1, 2024).
She was born in Schenectady, NY, to her late parents, Doris and Howard Salisbury.
She was a well-respected employee of Owens Corning Fiberglass in Delmar, NY for 28 years, retiring in 2008. She served as an Elder of the Jerusalem Reformed Church in Feura Bush, NY for many years prior to moving to Keuka Lake in 2014.
She was blessed to be the mother of Deanne Truax, Kelly Cook (Wayne), Marissa Hill (Erik) and John Layaou, Jr. She was Mamma, or Ma’am to her grandchildren, Cera (Mike), Alora (Terrance), Jacob (Meghan), Zachary, Tyler and Eli as well as great-grandchildren, Case, Brayden, Elodie, Benjamin, Vincent, Isla, Greyson, Luna and Haven along with many treasured nieces and nephews.
Sandra is survived by her dearest sister, Beverly Suafoa (Kose); brother Bill (Anna) and is predeceased by her brother, Douglas Salisbury.
She had great love and respect for the treasured bonds of family.
She was an avid cross-stitcher and took great patience, pleasure and pride in creating numerous beautiful pieces of art. She will be missed by her “Stitch & Bitch” family.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 11 a.m. SATURDAY (Nov. 23, 2024) at the Jerusalem Reformed Church in Feura Bush, NY.
