Evelyn J. Schuck

PULTENEY – Evelyn J. Schuck, 92, of Roff Hill Road died Wednesday (Oct. 2, 2024) at The Homestead in Penn Yan, NY.

Born in Pulteney on Nov. 24, 1931 she was a daughter of the late Jack and Helen (Gall) Nichiporuk. Besides her parents, she was also predeceased by her husband, Elmer; three sons, Joseph Brent Schuck, Elmer John Schuck and Keith Alexander Schuck and three brothers, Jack, Joseph and William Nichiporuk.

Evelyn retired from Taylor Winery in Hammondsport, NY and loved watching the NY Yankees, reading her many cookbooks and visiting with family.

She is survived by two sons, Edward (Audrey Cermak) Schuck of Pulteney and Brian (Lisa) Schuck all of Pulteney; three daughters, Sonja (Gary) Herrick of Lake Alfred, FL, Nadja (Michael) O’Brien of Hammondsport and Nadine (Adam) Rusak of Prattsburgh, NY; one sister, Nancy Chamberlain; two daughters-in-law, Jeanne Schuck of Penn Yan and Judy Schuck of Savona, NY; sisters-in-law, Esther Nichiporuk and Margeurite (Angelo) Gentile; 11 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews.

There will be no calling hours. Relatives and friends are invited to join her family at St. Gabriel’s Church, 78 Shethar St., Hammondsport where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday (Oct. 14, 2024). Interment will be in Glenview Cemetery, Pulteney.

In lieu of flowers, those wishing may contribute in her memory to either the Pulteney Volunteer Ambulance, 9203 County Route 74, Hammondsport, NY 14840 or the Lupus Foundation in honor of her son, Keith Alexander Schuck (www.lupus.org).
