Robert Pritting
AVOCA/WALLACE – Robert Pritting, or as most people knew him, “Jake,” passed away on March 10, 2024 at the age of 68.
He was predeceased by his parents, Robert L. Pritting and Clara Pritting and his faithful friend Kevin Vogt. Jake is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Gail; sons Robert, Shannon (Jessie), and Justin. He is also survived by four grandchildren, Sabrina, Margo, Claire, and Samuel. Jake was a dedicated son, husband, father, and grandfather.
He worked at Mercury Aircraft for over 40 years. In addition, he was a barber for over 50 years, and had a home-based barbershop that served as a social club and gathering place with Jake sharing stories while cutting hair. Jake was involved in the Masons for many years, was a Boy Scout Leader, coached Little League, and served as a literacy volunteer. He enjoyed animals, which included many cherished family dogs. He enjoyed watching birds and raising Koi in his Koi pond that was his place to relax and socialize. More than anything, Jake loved being around family and hearing what everyone was doing.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in his name to the Hornell Area Humane Society.

Rest Easy Uncle Jake I Love You. Aunt Gail, if you see this just know that me, Mommy, Daddy, Pam, Don, Max, Shelby, Ella, Coco, and Resee love and miss Uncle Jake’s smiling face when we came up to your house. Jake will surely be missed by me and my friends and teachers at Wayland Cohocton High School.

Condolences from my family to yours Gail. Jake was a good friend.
Jake was certainly a joker. I remember the first time you came to our apartment and Jake led you to believe we had a lot of money. He made you so nervous you only stayed about 10 minutes because you was so nervous it made you sick.
The whole thing we lived pay day to pay just like most of the workers at mercury.
He was full of jokes. His laughter will surely be missed.
