WILLIAM H. “BILL” ABBOTT

AVOCA-William H. “Bill” Abbott, 52, of Avoca, passed away early Tuesday morning (April 2, 2013) at Arnot-Ogden Medical Center in Elmira.
Born in the Town of Urbana on October 16, 1960, he was a son of the late James E. Abbott III and Agnes L. Skinkle Abbott. Besides his parents he was also predeceased by his stepfather, Glenn Chrysler, Sr.
A resident of Avoca for most of his life, Bill was a graduate of Avoca Central School, class of 1979.
He was employed as a cab driver in Bath before he began his employment as a very dedicated bus driver for Avoca Central School for more than 20 years.
His family includes his two children, Jared Abbott (Crystal Lead) of Avoca and Alyssa Abbott of Painted Post; his soon to be born granddaughter, Emma Abbott; his two brothers, James (Teresa) Abbott IV of Avoca and Richard Abbott of Hammondsport; his step-brother, Glenn (Jean) Chrysler Jr. of Campbell; also his uncle, Leonard Skinkle of Elmira; as well as his many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Calling hours are from 3-6 p.m. Saturday at the Avoca Funeral Home, 22 N. Main St., Avoca, where a time of remembrance and sharing will follow calling hours at 6 p.m. Saturday. Private interment will be in Valley View Cemetery, Avoca.
