William “Bill” Ernest Snyder, Sr.

Avoca, NY – William “Bill” Ernest Snyder, Sr., age 90, of Avoca, passed away peacefully at home on December 23, 2025. He was born on July 9, 1935.

Bill was predeceased by his beloved wife, Lillian “Lil” (Wilson) Snyder, with whom he shared a lifetime of love, joy, and devotion. Lil, age 85, passed away on March 12, 2022. She was born on September 23, 1936.

Together again, Bill and Lil now walk with their lord and savior, Jesus Christ

Bill was a devoted and hardworking employee of Mercury Aircraft, where he dedicated 42 years of service. Known for his integrity, loyalty, and quiet strength, Bill lived a life guided by deep and unwavering religious faith, which shaped his decisions, relationships, and the love he showed his family. He was a devoted servant to his church and community, and his faith was the cornerstone of his life.

Lil was a dedicated employee of the United States Postal Service, where she was well known for her warm interactions with the community and her commitment to serving others. She lived her life guided by strong religious beliefs, participating actively in her church and always putting her faith into action through service, kindness, and devotion to family.

Bill is survived by his sisters Lois (Cagle) and Nancy (Moir) adding a plethora of nieces and nephews, loving children, Bill Jr. (Marla), and Mike (Cheryl); his grandchildren, Jason (Stephanie), Christopher (Alexandra), Stephanie (Kyle), and Daniel (Melissa); and his great-grandchildren, Evan, Will, Lauren (Snyder), Evelyn (Snyder), and Declan (McGuckin). He will be remembered as a devoted father, grandfather, and great-grandfather whose faith, love, and example inspired all who knew him.

Together, Bill and Lil were avid Square Dancers, sharing countless happy moments that brought happiness, passion, and celebration throughout their lives.

Bill and Lil shared a life rooted in faith, love, hard work, and family. They are lovingly remembered and forever missed by all who knew them.

A Celebration of Lives Well Lived for Bill & Lil Snyder will be held Tuesday, May 26th, at 11:00 AM at the Avoca Methodist Church, 8593 Jacob’s Ladder Road, Avoca, New York.

In lieu of flowers, those wishing may contribute in his memory to the Avoca Methodist Church, 8593 Jacob’s Ladder Road, Avoca, NY 148O9.
