VINCENT L. MAHANY

ARKPORT/HORNELL-Vincent L. Mahany, 86, formerly of Yankee Lane, Town of Hornellsville, died early Tuesday morning (Aug. 19, 2008) at McAuley Manor in North Hornell, after a long illness.
Born in Fort Fairfield, Maine on July 10, 1922, Vince was a former resident of Arkport and has resided in the Town of Hornellsville for more than 45 years.
While residing in Maine he was employed as a potato farmer and before his retirement he was a self-employed contractor.
Vince had been a communicant of St. Ann’s Church of Our Lady of the Valley Parish.
His family includes his companion of 35 years, Anne H. Hoy; his son, Vincent “Ty”; his daughter, Pamela Ann; his five grandchildren; his two sisters and three brothers; also his nieces, nephews and cousins.
To honor his wishes there will be no calling hours. A private graveside service at Rural Cemetery in Hornell will be held in his memory at the convenience
of his family, with Deacon Robert McCormick officiating.
Arrangements are with the Bishop & Johnson Funeral Home, Inc., 285 Main St., Hornell.
