SUSAN M. HOLLISTER
ARKPORT/ROCHESTER-Susan M. Holllister, 60, passed away unexpectedly Saturday morning (March 19, 2016) at her home on State Route 36.
Born in Toledo, Ohio on Nov. 26, 1955, she was the daughter of Clyde Harris Werle, who predeceased her and Agnes Irene (Cummings) Werle, who survives.
A former resident of Ohio, Susan resided in Rochester before moving to her home in Arkport in about 2003.
She was a graduate of Rush-Henrietta Central School and proudly served her country with the U.S. Navy from 1975 to her honorable discharge in 1979. After serving with the military she graduated from Nazareth College in Rochester. Later, she was employed as a Research Clerk at the Central Library on South Ave. in Rochester.
Susan enjoyed reading books and literature and also loved animals.
Her loving family includes her husband of 30 years, Michael S. Hollister of Arkport; her mother, Agnes Werle of Hilton; also her two brothers, Guy C. Werle of Texas and Michael A. Werle of Henrietta.
The Bishop & Johnson Funeral Home, Inc. in Hornell is honored to serve the family of Susan M. Hollister.
There will be an hour of calling from 10-11 a.m. Thursday at the Bishop & Johnson Funeral Home, Inc., 285 Main St., Hornell, where a funeral service will be held in her memory at 11 a.m. Thursday, with Deacon Robert McCormick officiating; military honors will follow.
The U.S. flag and the Navy flag will proudly fly at the Bishop & Johnson Funeral Home, Inc. in honor of Susan’s military service.
