Stanley B. Perkins

PRATTSBURGH – Stanley B. Perkins, 78, passed away Sunday (Jan. 19, 2020) at his home on County Route 7.

Born in Wayland on Dec. 4, 1941, he was a son of the late Clarence and June (Rogers) Perkins. Besides his parents, he was also predeceased by one sister, Bonnie Gee and one brother, Roy Perkins.

He attended Wayland Central School. Stanley proudly served his country with the US Army from 1960-1963.

He was employed with the Rochester Times Union before he began his 35-year career with Mercury Aircraft in Hammondsport, retiring in 2011.

Throughout the years he played softball with various leagues and enjoyed motorcycles.

His family includes two sisters, Dixie (Michael) LaPoma of Avon and Laurie (Bill) Partridge of Bath; one brother, Ronald (Tracy) Perkins of Prattsburgh; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.

The Avoca Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of Stanley B. Perkins.

Calling hours are 2-4 p.m. Sunday (Jan. 26, 2020) at the Avoca Funeral Home, 22 N. Main St., Avoca, where a funeral service will be held following the calling hours at 4 p.m. Sunday with Pastor Barre Butts officiating. Interment will be in Erwin Cemetery, Webster Crossing.
