RONA B. KINBACK
HORNELL-Rona B. Kinback, 71, of William St., passed away, with her loving children by her side, late Thursday afternoon at McAuley Manor in North Hornell, after a brief illness.
Born in High Wycombe, England on June 24, 1939, she was a daughter of the late Ronald and Dorothy Wennington Burnard. In 1963 she was married to Carl S. Kinback, Jr., who predeceased her in 1974.
A resident of Hornell since 1947, Rona graduated from Hornell High School with the class of 1957.
Throughout the years she was employed as a secretary for several area businesses including the former M-K Corp. and for Dr. Spencer Annabel’s office and as a teller for Steuben Trust Company and Maple City Savings Bank in Hornell.
She was a member of Our Lady of the Valley Parish and was a communicant of St. Ann’s Church in Hornell where she also sang with the Resurrection choir. She was also a member of the Hornell Moose Lodge No. 210 and the Hornell Elks Lodge No. 364 as well as serving as a volunteer at the Aquinas Gift Shop at St. James Mercy Hospital in Hornell.
Rona dearly loved her family and was very fond of animals, especially dogs. She also enjoyed doing yard work around her home. She was well known for her beautiful smile.
Her family includes her daughter, Lisa-Beth (Dan) Galatio of North Hornell; her son, John Kinback of Hornell; her grandson, John “Jack” Galatio of North Hornell; her sister, Jenny Morey of Arkport; her brother, Thomas (Barb) Burnard of Alfred; also her nieces, nephews and cousins.
To honor her wishes there will be no calling hours. A private graveside committal service will take place in her memory at Woodlawn Cemetery, Canisteo at the convenience of her family.
