Robert Allen “Jonesy” Jones

HORNELL-Robert Allen “Jonesy” Jones, 41, of Bills Road (Town of Fremont), passed away unexpectedly Friday (Dec. 4, 2020).

Born in North Hornell on March1, 1979, he was a son of William Law and Sheila Jones.

A resident of Hornell for most of his life, Jonesy attended Hornell High School and later received his GED. He has resided in Idaho for 15 years before returning to Hornell several months ago.

He was self-employed contractor who was known as a “jack of all trades.” He enjoyed spending time fishing, hunting, drawing and doing wood carvings.

His loving family includes his mother and step father, Sheila and Sam Jackson of Hornell; his father, William Law of Ocean Springs, Miss..; three brothers, Eithen Jackson of Hornell, Derrick Smolos of Savannah, Ga. and Kyle Jackson of New Hampshire; two sisters, Sarah Jackson of Binghamton and Sandra Roberts of Hornell; five aunts, Pamela Lippincott of Hornell, Roberta Jones of Cohocton, Tina (Eric) Roberts of Alfred, Carrie (Art) Simons of West Almond and Janet Schnable of Mississippi; three uncles, Steven (Darlene) Jones of Ohio, Steven Houseknecht of McKenzie, Tenn. and David Hills of Idaho.; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was predeceased by his twin brother, Shawn Jones; a brother, David Jackson; stepfather, James Frost; maternal grandparents, Jeanette and Walter Jones; paternal grandparents, William J. and Helen Law; and an aunt, Rhonda Hills.

Due to the coronavirus pandemic a “Celebration of Life” will be held at a later date.
