Richard E. “Rick” Saltsman, Jr.

BATH-Richard E. “Rick” Saltsman, Jr., age 62, passed away on Tuesday (Dec. 21, 2021) at his home in Bath, after a long battle with cancer.

He was born Aug. 12, 1959, to the late Richard “Dick” Saltsman, Sr. and Virginia “Jean” (Patterson) Saltsman.

He was employed at Mercury Aircraft in Hammondsport, NY for 23 years and was the owner of Rick’s Electrics. He was employed at Ira Davenport Memorial Hospital in Bath as an electrician before moving to South Carolina where he was employed for Brogdon Electric for seven years.

Rick enjoyed hunting, fishing, NASCAR, the Green Bay Packers, watching many hours of Gunsmoke, and playing poker with family and friends while enjoying a Pabst Blue Ribbon. His heroes were, John Wayne, George Strait, and Mark Martin.

Rick is survived by his loving wife of 45 years. Karen (Wright) Saltsman; children, Mark, Cory, Lisa (Shane) Card; seven grandchildren, Hannah VanAlstine, Madison Saltsman, Noah Saltsman, Gracie Saltsman, Ryan Card, Keira Saltsman, and Jenna Card; one great-grandchild, Dahlia Ribble; siblings, Brenda (Don) Personius, and Kelly (Rich) Bussmann; also many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins; as well as special friends, Henry Shugars and Red Wilson.

There will be a Celebration of Life for family and friends at a later date.
