Patty Forenz

PATTY FORENZ

PULTENEY – Patty Forenz went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Saturday (May 11, 2024).
Patty was born in Bath on January 9, 1955 to Betty and the late Laurence Kennedy. She was a 1973 graduate of Hammondsport Central school and a 1975 graduate of Morrisville College with a degree in accounting. She worked at Hall Equipment, then Frey and Campbell before putting her career on hold to be home for her children in their early years. Patty is perhaps most known for being the friendly face at Dr. Sam’s dental office where she worked for well over 30 years once the children were in school.

Patty married her husband Nick (Dominick J. Forenz), of nearly 48 years on July 24, 1976.They were high school sweethearts spending a total of 52 years of their lives together.

Throughout her life Patty was always positive and caring when it came to interacting with others. She truly enjoyed bringing joy to others. Her smile was contagious, and she would bring cheer to your day. You would feel a sense of calmness just because you were in the room with her. She truly celebrated everyone and made them feel special, loved, and amazing for being who they are. Because of this she touched an incredible number of people’s lives.

Her children and grandchildren were everything to her. They were her priority. She placed their needs and those of others she knew before her own. She was present at every sporting event, concert, spelling bee, and awards ceremony; she was always there and because of this her grandchildren would expectantly be looking for her at these functions. She recognized both the biggest and smallest accomplishments, giving a thoughtful gift for a coach or teammates, or recognizing her husband, children, daughter-in-law, and grandchildren.

Patty volunteered throughout her life in many roles, most of them centered around the activities of her children and grandchildren. She volunteered in the Nursery school classroom, elementary classrooms, was President of the PTA, and helped organize and run the Pulteney Jr. League. Patty was a member of the Hammondsport Methodist church and in later years, a longtime communicant of St. James Episcopal church in Hammondsport where she also served as Treasurer, taught Sunday School, and volunteered for many of the church’s other activities.

She is survived by her husband Nick, her son Ken (Stacey) Forenz, and grandsons Ethan and Nathan. She is also survived by her daughter Heather (Bill Schrage) Forenz and grandson Orion. She is survived by her mother Betty Kennedy, sisters Rebecca (Sam) Heusler, Teresa (Jack) Gleason, Tammy (John) Perkins, and her brother Tom Kennedy. Brother-in-laws John (Beth) Forenz, and Tom Forenz, along with many cousins, nieces, nephews and their children. She was predeceased by her father Laurence and sisters-in-law Michelle Bonnette Forenz and Shelley Kennedy.
