HORNELL – Patricia A. (Hurd) Thompson, 64, passed away late Saturday evening (Oct. 12, 2024) at her home on Elm Street, with family at her side, surrounded by their love.
Born in Blytheville, Arkansas on April 12, 1960 she was a daughter of the late Norman Hurd and Jerry and Marlene (Dingwell) Walsh. She was married to John F. Thompson, Sr., who predeceased her on July 29, 2023. Besides her parents and husband, she was also predeceased by two brothers, Alan Hurd and David Hurd also her uncle Billy Dingwell.
A resident of Hornell for most of her life, Patty was formerly employed at Stop & Shop and Updyke’s Willowridge in Hornell.
She loved doing crafts, especially crocheting and diamond art. She also enjoyed playing cards and dice.
Patty dedicated her life to being a loving and devoted daughter, wife, mother, grandmother and sister who cherished the time she spent with her family and friends.
She is lovingly survived by one daughter, Bridgett (Kevin) Ray and their three sons, Scott Hurd and his four children, John Thompson, Jr. and his child and Christopher Hurd (Carrie Rowlinson) and his three children; one brother, Brett Hurd; one sister, Debra Reid; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
A committal service, followed by interment with her husband John, will take place at 2 p.m. Thursday (Oct. 24, 2024) at Bath National Cemetery. A Celebration of Life will follow beginning at 4 p.m. Thursday at the Hornell Moose Lodge, 66 Seneca St.
