NORMAN J. SKINKLE

BATH-Norman J. Skinkle, 65 of County Route 415S, died Wednesday (July 21, 2010) at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, after a brief illness.
Born in the Town of Urbana on Sept. 4, 1944, he was a son of the late Herbert and Flora Fraven Skinkle. Besides his parents, he was also predeceased by his five sisters, Bernice, Gertrude, Pauline, Agnes and Mildred and his brother, Ernest.
A resident of Bath for most of his life, Norm served with the U.S. Army for 11 years in Korea and Germany.
He enjoyed painting as well as making model cars.
His family includes, Cheryl Skinkle; his three children, Tina (Andre) Skinkle Henderson of Virginia, Thomas (Melissa) Skinkle Storm of Avoca and Sgt. Joshua (Jennifer) Skinkle of Fort Drum; his 13 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; his brother, Leonard Skinkle of Montour Falls; also his nieces and nephews.
Calling hours are from 9-10 a.m. Wednesday at the Avoca Funeral Home, 22 N. Main St., Avoca, where a funeral service will take place following calling hours at 10 a.m. Wednesday. Committal services and interment will follow at Bath National Cemetery.
