HAMMONDSPORT – Nan Louise Anderson, 88, of West Lake Road, Hammondsport, New York, passed away January 14, 2023 at home peacefully with family present.

Nan was born in Bradford, Pennsylvania to Margaret and George LaBorde on May 21, 1934. She went to school at Bradford Area High School where she met and later married her high school sweetheart Kenneth Anderson on August 24, 1957. Nan worked as the Primary Librarian at Hammondsport Central School for 27 years where she was beloved by her colleagues and students. Nan was devoted to the local Women’s organization and her card club where she made lifelong friends.

Nan is preceded in death by her parents and brother Robert (Cathy) LaBorde.

Nan is survived by her husband Kenneth Anderson, cousin Lee of Bradford, PA daughter Terry Anderson of Sarasota, FL, son Michael (Kathy) Anderson of Berwyn, PA and son David (Barb) Anderson of Half Moon Bay, CA; seven grandchildren who she adored with all her heart: James, Harrison, Chandra, Phillip, Mark, Luke and Eric.

Nan was an avid baker known by family and friends for all types of goodies including the prodigious Congo bars.  Nan was proud of her open kitchen known to all as it was not uncommon to have visitors stop by for snacks and laughs.

To honor her wishes there will be no calling hours. The Celebration of Nan’s Life will be from 2 to 4pm, Saturday, April 15th at Hammondsport Central School Auditorium.
