MARY L. PARSONS

AVOCA-Mary L. Parsons, 68, passed away Sunday morning (Aug. 10, 2014) at the Maryville Home For Adults in the Town of Howard.
Born in Bath on June 8, 1946, she was a daughter of the late Orlo and Helen Chapman Hughes. Besides her parents, she was also predeceased by her son-in-law, Joseph Ryan; her grandson, Joshua Leonard Hughes; her two brothers, Ronald Hughes and David Hughes and her sister, Ramona Hughes.
A homemaker, Mary enjoyed playing guitar and singing as well as playing bingo. She especially loved family gatherings, strawberry shortcake or any dessert after a meal.
Her family includes her husband, LeRoy Parsons, who she married on April 20, 1969; her six kids, Amy (Tim) Button of Bath, David L. (Cheri) Hughes of Howard, Pamela Ryan of Alfred Station, Christina H. (Jason) Stewart of Michigan, Kathy Parsons of Hammondsport and Angela (William) Plank of Wellsville; her 22 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; her brother, Arthur (Connie) Hughes of Cohocton; her two sisters, Kathleen Parson of Canisteo and Rose Snyder of Penn Yan; also her nieces and nephews.
The Avoca Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of Mary L. Parsons.
There will be an hour of calling from 1-2 p.m. Thursday at the Avoca Funeral Home, 22 N. Main St., Avoca, where a funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday. Committal services and interment will follow at Vale of Rest Cemetery, Avoca.
