MARION B. TOWNER

COHOCTON-Marion B. Towner, 90, who resided with her granddaughter, Tammy Ribble, in Cohocton, passed away late Saturday afternoon (Dec. 26, 2015) at Noyes Memorial Hospital in Dansville.
Born in Avoca on Oct. 26, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Brothea and Bessie (Fox) Cleland. Besides her parents, she was also predeceased by her husband, LaVerne Towner and her daughter, Karen Fox.
Before she retired, Marion was employed as a inspector for Corning Glass.
Well known for her apple pie, she received the 1st place award three different times at the New York State Fair.
Her loving family includes her son, Leroy (Ann Marie) Towner of Syracuse; her grandson, John (Jamie) Towner of Greece, N.Y. and her granddaughter, Tammy Ribble of Cohocton; as well as her four great-grandchildren.
The Avoca Funeral Home, 22 N. Main St., Avoca is honored to serve the family of Marion B. Towner.
There will be no calling hours. A funeral service will be held in her memory at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Cohocton Assembly of God Church, with Pastor Daniel Gardner officiating. Interment will be in Valley View Cemetery, Avoca.
