MARIAN M. WELDY

AVOCA-Marian M. Weldy, 90, of Avoca, died Wednesday July 5, 2017 at Elderwood in North Hornell. Born in Elmira on July 1, 1927, she was a daughter of the late Samuel and Louisa (Potter) Ellis. Besides her parents, she was also predeceased by her husband Charles W. Weldy Sr. and her sister Florence.

Marian worked delivering the Corning Leader and then became a security guard at Sterns and Sterns, Gunlocke and Westinghouse. Later she became employed in housekeeping at Ira Davenport Memorial Hospital, retiring at the age of 85.
She loved to take care of her family and her cats.
Her loving family includes her fourteen children, Burton (Milta) Weldy of Bath, Charlotte Mullen of Canisteo, Sue (Lewis) Briggs of PA, Geraldine (Stephen) Saltsman of Avoca, Charles (Kathy) Weldy of PA, Mike (Youngshin) Weldy of Las Vegas, Gary (Mary) Weldy of Avoca, Marty (Julie) Weldy of Bath, Julia (Terry) Havens of Avoca, Kathy (Jerry) Kull of Haskinsville, Kyle Weldy of Hornell, Eric (Michelle) Weldy of Bath, Bruce (Ginger) Weldy of Atlanta and Tracy Weldy of Painted Post; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
The Avoca Funeral Home, 22 North Main St in Avoca is honored to serve the family of Marian M. Weldy.
Relatives and friends are invited to a celebration of life that will be held at 2:00 p.m. today at the Avoca Methodist Church.
