MARGARET J. “PEGGY” JOHNSON

ANDOVER/HORNELL-Margaret J. “Peggy” Johnson, 52, of 38 Chestnut St., Andover, formerly of Hornell, unexpectedly entered into rest Tuesday morning (Nov. 29, 2011) at Jones Memorial Hospital in Wellsville.
Born in Taylor, Pa. on March 3, 1959 she was the daughter of the late Francis and Alice Hodge Cawley. On Nov. 19, 1977 she was married in Hornell to George L. Johnson, who survives.
A former resident of Hornell, Peggy has resided the past seven years in Andover.
When she received her GED, she scored the highest in New York State.
For many years she was employed as a motor route driver for The Evening Tribune.
Peggy enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren as well as crocheting and knitting.
Her family includes her husband of 34 years, George; her five children, Joseph (Patricia) Johnson of Hornell, Corinne Stanford of Jasper, Aaron “Bomber” Johnson of Andover, Jessica Johnson of Hornell and James Johnson of Andover; her seven grandchildren, Joseph Hurlburt, Kamee Sheahen, Erin Johnson, Tyler Stephens, Sadie Stephens, Izik Ebert and Della Olejniczak; her three “adopted” grandchildren, Evan Michael Odell, Mirissa Stephens and Maranda Stephens; her brother, Robert (Susan) Cawley of Hornell.
A funeral service will be held in her memory at 2 p.m. Saturday (Dec. 10) at Living Waters Church, 1737 Southyard Road in Hornell (along East Ave. railroad tracks) with Pastor John Casterline officiating.
Arrangements are with the Bishop & Johnson Funeral Home, Inc., 285 Main St., Hornell.
