HORNELL – Louise Lena Notz Crain, daughter of the late Adam and Elizabeth (Phillipi) Hack was reunited with her parents and siblings early Saturday morning December 11, 2021. Louise was born December 18, 1929, and raised in Scranton Pennsylvania before relocating to Hornell in the early 1960’s. She had resided at Elderwood in Hornell the past 18 months following a fall.

Louise attended Steuben-Allegany BOCES as an adult CNA student under the direction of Joan Watches whom she adored. She was so proud of receiving her CNA certification while remaining a devoted mother and homemaker. She was meticulous in maintaining her home always decorating for the holidays and everything in its’ place. She loved shopping especially at Wegmans and QVC, enjoying lunch dates with friends and family at area restaurants and looked forward to coffee chats with close friends Lora and Rose. Louise enjoyed sewing, ceramics, painting still life and in the past few months truly enjoyed word searches having completed hundreds of books. She was a former member of the Association and AZB Sorority.

Her daughters were the pride of her life along with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved hearing about their accomplishments and enjoyed listening to stories about her great grandchildren displaying photos throughout her home. Louise loved giving to others. It was so much more important for her to give than to receive. She searched for the perfect gift for each person and never missed sending send a card to others to let them know she was thinking of them.

Louise is predeceased by her parents, five siblings and her grandson in-law Kevin Lawrence. She is survived by her daughters; Nancy (Tom) Fagnan, Pamela (Bill) Schwartz and Judy Notz. Her grandchildren Lynnette (Darryn DuShane) Lawrence, Bridgette (Christopher) DuChane, Robert (Ashley) Eveland and Thomas (Logan Kidwell) Eveland, five great-grandsons, Tyler, Everett, Elijah, Greyson, Memphis and soon to arrive great granddaughter Adley. Her step grandchildren; Brittany (Jesse) Hite, Yvetta Schwartz andWilliam “Bear” (Heaven Littleton) Schwartz and step great-grandchildren Chase, Parker, and Jack.

The family will greet relatives and friends from 12-2 pm Thursday (December 16, 2021) at the Bishop & Johnson Funeral Home, Inc., 285 Main Street., Hornell where a funeral service will be held at 2 pm Thursday with Deacon Bob McCormick officiating. Face masks will be required at the funeral home. Thank you for understanding. Interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Town of Fremont.

In lieu of flowers those wishing may contribute to the Hornell Area Humane Society, 7649 Industrial Park Road, Hornell NY 14843. Envelopes for memorial contributions will be available at the funeral home.
