Lotte H. Woodard (9/21/1940 – 07/18/2023)
BATH – Lotte H Woodard was born September 22, 1940, in Nuremburg, Germany to Wilhelm and Elise Rothmund the youngest of three children and died on July 18, 2023, at Fred and Harrier Taylor SNF in Bath, NY.
She emigrated to the United States in 1960 making Campbell, NY her home and was a homemaker until she began her career at Watson Homestead Conference and Retreat Center as the Head Cook for 17 years until retirement. She prepared food for Camp Star, Elderhostel, and other camping groups meeting people from all over the world.
Lotte was pre-deceased by her parents, her brother and sister-in-law Walter and Lydia Rothmund, brother-in law Fritz Hausmann, infant daughter, three of her children, Jay Rothmund, Christopher Woodard and Alan Woodard and her infant grandsons Michael J Woodard and Robert Michael Colomaio.
Survivors include her sister Gertrud Hausmann of Germany and her children David Woodard, Pamela (Deacon Robert) Colomaio, Tracey Woodard and Penny Woodard. Her twelve grandchildren Jeremy Rothmund, Joshua Rothmund, Andrea Skowneski, Mary Catherine Colomaio, Theresa Colomaio, Christopher Woodard, Tracey Leigh Woodard, Sheila Erinn Woodard, Erica Hathaway, Anthony Fassett, Samantha Orlando, and Alexander Putnam. She also has many great and great-great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews and her dog Margie.
We would like to express our appreciation to the nurses at Corning Hospital and the Taylor Health Center for the excellent care Lotte received.
Lotte will be remembered for her great cooking, love of flowers and plants and most importantly her Spitzbuben Cookie Recipe.
There will be a memorial mass held at St. John Vianney Parish, 32 East Morris St, Bath, NY 14810 with burial in Holy Sepluchre Cemetery Bath, NY on August 19, 2023, at 1 p.m.
