LARRY H. STEPHENS

HORNELL-Larry H. Stephens, 65, of Sawyer St., passed away late Friday afternoon (Sept. 2, 2016) at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester.
Born in Rochester on March 15, 1951, he was the son of Harold L. Stephens, who predeceased him and Beulah (Bennett) Stephens, who survives.
A resident of Hornell for most of his life, Larry proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War until his honorable discharge in 1975.
He was employed in janitorial services at St. James Mercy Hospital in Hornell, Alfred State College and ARC of Steuben in Hornell.
Larry enjoyed spending time with his family, collecting movies and raising angel fish.
His loving family includes his mother, Beulah Stephens of Hornell; his five sisters,
Joanne Carpenter (Larry French) of Hornell, Gloria (Peter) Fisher of Florida, Judy (Tom) Smith of Almond, Bonnie Simms and Brenda Gayhart (Brian) all of Hornell; as well as a daughter, Rebecca Stephens; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
The Bishop & Johnson Funeral Home, Inc., 285 Main St. in Hornell is honored to serve the family of Larry H. Stephens.
There will be no calling hours. A service will be held in his memory at 2 p.m. Saturday (Sept. 17, 2016) at the New Life Assembly of God Church, 342 Seneca Road, North Hornell, with Pastor Joel Boldoc officiating. Interment was in Bath National Cemetery.
