Larry Eugen Wilt

COHOCTON – Larry Eugene Wilt, 76, of Mattoon Road (Town of Fremont) passed away early Sunday morning (May 18, 2025) surrounded by his family, at Noyes Memorial Hospital in Dansville, NY, after a lengthy illness.

Born in Meyersdale, PA on Oct. 5, 1948 he was a son of the late Bruce and Alice (Mishler) Wilt. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his infant son, Jason Wilt and his brother, Jimmy Lee Wilt.

At the age of 18 Larry moved to Niagara Falls, NY where he later met and married his wife, Diana Lois (Weber) Wilt on Aug. 15, 1970. They raised their family there and Larry was employed at Redland Stone Quarry and was a member of the Operating Engineers Local Union #463 in Lockport.

They eventually moved to the Southern Tier where he loved to spend time in the woods hunting.

Larry was a devoted family man who adored his entire family; they were his whole life. He will be remembered for being extremely loyal to his family and friends; he would give his shirt off his back to anyone who needed it. His motto was “family first and everything else will fall in place.” Larry will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved him.

He is lovingly survived by his wife of nearly 55 years, Diana; two sons, Jonathan (Amy) Wilt of Newfane, NY and Jusin (Wendi) Wilt of Apalachin, NY; four grandchildren, Joshua, Jarod, Zackori and Hannah Wilt; one sister, Tina Wilt of Hagerstown, MD; three sisters-in-law, Jean Guiliani, Trish Timko and Eileen Weber; as well as several nieces and nephews.
