John P. Coleman

HORNELL-John P. Coleman, 65, passed away Sunday evening (March 20, 2022), in the presence of his loving family, at his home on Oak Street, after a long hard battle with cancer.

Born in Hornell on July 21, 1956 he was a son of the late Paul and Lila (Hamilton) Coleman.

A graduate of Hornell High School, class of 1974, John resided in Almond for about 15 years before returning to Hornell.

He was employed at the former SKF Industries in Hornell until it closed and was employed as a machinist at Dresser Rand in Wellsville for 30 years.

A member of the Hornell Association and the Hornell Am Vets Post, John was a big Buffalo Bills fan, loved animals, especially dogs and at one time liked to hunt. John was an extremely talented machinist, who enjoyed working and had a strong work ethic so that he could provide for his family. He will be remembered most of all for being “one of a kind.”
